Service
In
pursuit of the highest ideals of womanhood, each Alpha Phi
member must be a positive influence as a Greek, campus, and
community leader. Alpha Phis are not only members of a Greek
community, but also value the quality of each individual’s
response to membership in the campus and greater Kalamazoo
community.
Taking pride in our services and supporting these
activities has helped us endure and excel beyond our goals.
We feel that not only does service improve ourselves, but
also gives us a chance to contribute to the community. We
feel that we have left a lasting impression on many local
organizations through our service work, and, likewise, they
have left an impression on our chapter.
Our
chapter is involved with the Kalamazoo Junior Girls Association.
Many sisters volunteer to help coordinate their annual fashion
show for girls K-8th grade.
Our chapter’s dedication
to service in the community was recognized when we were awarded
the Western Michigan University Office of SA&LP Golden
Bronco Service Learning Award. Alpha Phi was the only Greek-lettered
organization to receive an award on the university level.
We are very proud to have received this award, and it helps
to motivate us to continue giving back to our community.
