Kalamazoo Alumnae Chapter

Current Officers
President: Jill Guilstorf Rogowski
Treasurer: Bobbi Goddard Lam

The local alumnae chapter meets twice per year. Our favorite event is our annual Holiday Brunch usually held at the Delta Theta Chapter House on a Saturday in early December at 10 a.m. We have a delicious brunch, followed by our Holiday Item Auction which benefits the Laura Linder Pierce Scholarship Fund for Delta Theta Collegiate Members. We’ve had everything from edible treats to beautiful holiday decorations. Bidding continues at a frenzied pace until all items are gone. The scholarship fund was originally started by Dorothy Snow Staebler, Theta Chapter - University of Michigan, to provide a scholarship for collegiate chapter members to assist with the purchase of books or other class needs. The fund was named in memory of Laura Linder Pierce, Beta Beta Chapter – Michigan State University, for the many years of support that she gave to the Delta Theta Chapter, especially her time on the House Corporation Board.

The alumnae also try to hold a Spring meeting, which often includes some type of educational program. In years past we have had Deanna House visit us as well as a preview of the KIA’s showing of Millet to Matisse.

An additional function of the alumnae chapter is to provide support for the collegiate chapter at WMU. This may be in the form of practicing recruitment conversation, or sometimes with a donation.
